Jana is passionate about writing picture books to delight children, stir their imagination, and encourage a lifelong love of reading. She especially loves writing (and reading) humorous stories with heart, as well as stories where a character might get eaten. She lives in Texas with her husband and four children and she drinks a lot of coffee. When she’s not spending time with family, she can be found playing pickleball, volunteering with children and teens at her church, or playing board games with friends. She has no plans to run a marathon.

1. I still have my childhood eraser collection from the
80's/90's, which I conveniently store in my mini caboodle.
2. My favorite flavor of snow cone is banana.
3. Speaking of bananas, I once worked at a smoothie shop where I had to wear a banana suit.
4. My views on chapsticks, umbrellas and sweatshirts are: you can never have too many.
5. I can beat the game, Bop-It.
6. My dog, Poppy, has the following nicknames: PopTart, PopStar, Pops, PopPop, Poppasita, and Poppy Von Poodleton.
7. In my 9th grade high school yearbook they accidentally printed two pictures of me side by side. One was labeled Jana, and the other, Vana. This led some peole to think I had a twin. I do not—in fact—have a twin.
8. One of my hobbies—which I rarely have time for lately—is decorating cakes.
9. Related to #8, I have a sprinkle drawer in my kitchen.
10. I am scared of wasps and dentists.
